about the bride

Emily grew up in Woodinville, Washington and attended Willamette University in Oregon. In 2004, she moved to DC, where she worked first as an Americorps volunteer and then in housing policy, and met her wonderful fiancé. From 2007 to 2010 Emily and Steve did the long distance thing as she completed her degree in Landscape Architecture at the Graduate School of Design at Harvard. Emily is now a landscape architect at Coen Partners in Minneapolis. Emily loves trees, celebrity gossip magazines, chocolate, being outside, and, of course, Steve.

about the groom

Steve was born and raised in upstate New York, in a small town called Queensbury nearby Lake George. Steve attended Springfield College in MA and George Mason in VA where he received degrees in athletic training and computer science. Steve lived in DC for ten years working as a web developer. Now employed by Despatch Industries in Minneapolis, he continues to design and manage web sites on a permanent and contract basis. He loves running, penguins, the Saints, marshmallows, and Emily, of course.

how they met

Steve and Emily met in 2006 while playing in the same bocce league on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC. Somehow overcoming their rivalry on the court and surviving a 3-year long distance relationship while Emily was in Boston, the two were engaged over Thanksgiving weekend 2010.
