Transportation

A number of transportation opinions exist at Sea-tac Airport.  Private limos, shuttle vans, cabs, and rental cars are all available just across the drive lanes in the lower level of the large parking garage.  In addition, the Light Rail train is also available from Sea-tac Station to downtown Seattle.  The trip to Westlake Center (end of line) takes about 40 minutes and costs $2.75 one-way.  Be prepared to walk about one-quarter mile through from the terminal, through the parking garage and over to the station (follow signs).  It is best to do this trip during daylight hours to see where you’re heading, etc.   From Westlake Station, it is about three to four blocks to the venue hotel, the Hotel Max.  Carry an umbrella for this trip. It is about 20 to 30 minutes by rental car from the airport to the downtown (non-rush hour) core area.

Hotel Information

There are a number of good hotels in the downtown Seattle business district around the FareStart wedding venue area (700 Virginia Street).  Some of them are listed below, but the primary hotel for the wedding is the Hotel Max (one block from wedding venue).  They have given us a block of rooms for a reduced price of $124 (plus 15.6% taxes for all City hotels) per night – total of $143.  The rooms that are part of the block include two double beds (“Art of Two Beds”) and an “Artist King” room.  The also have a single double bed in the “Solo Art” rooms.  The modest size rooms in this boutique hotel have been renovated and the entire hotel has works of art from 40 artists.  Their art is on all of the walls, hallways, etc. with each room door having a black and white photo overlay.  The hotel is located near many of the venue amenities and transportation hubs (Monorail to Seattle Center, Light Rail, etc.).  Free wi-fi is available in the hotel and valet parking for vehicles will be one-half price at $15 per night with in/out privileges.  There is a small fitness room in the hotel.  Restaurants, coffee shops and cafes are also located everywhere nearby in the downtown core area. In addition, the wedding venue FareStart offers lunch and dinner menus (www.farestart.org).

Please feel free to make reservations by calling the special hotel reservation line at 866-833-6299.  Do not use the Hotel website for reservations since you need to book your rooms as part of the “Bonifaci-Thompson Wedding Block”.  Visit the hotel website (www.hotelmaxseattle.com) to look at typical rooms and amenities.   The deadline for making reservations at the discounted rate is September 14th, but we encourage you to book as soon as possible so we can expand the block if necessary.
